
Bugatti and Asprey bringing high tech Fabergé-style eggs to Ordinals
High-end digital objet d’art collections have a new home
Two famous luxury goods producers are collaborating on a new Bitcoin Ordinals collection. Bugatti, famous for its sports cars and Asprey, known since the mid-1800s for its fine jewellery, including royal crowns and scepters, will soon inscribe their pioneering Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection to the blockchain. By incorporating materials such as carbon fibre and design elements reminiscent of Bugatti’s distinctive grills and hood ornaments with Asprey’s traditional jewellery making process, the companies will create characteristic physical pieces, to be mirrored by timeless digital artifacts.
The limited Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection will be released this month, coincident with the opening of Asprey’s new gallery in London. The companies describe the Asprey Bugatti Egg Collection as “the first ever collection by two luxury brands using a state-of-the-art technique of inscribing digital content on the Bitcoin blockchain, ensuring the artwork will last indefinitely.” Indeed, a powerful statement on the timeless nature of art is made by using sophisticated techniques such as Bitcoin Ordinal inscription and the 3D scanning of a classic Bugatti sports car to create works which blend the classic with the modern.
